For Our First feature we thought it would be fitting that we focus our attention to a cult classic that has made the roads of cape town its own. Yes you guessed it, the infamous 84’ Corolla with Imraan Daya and Nico Okkers Cars as Fine examples As many of our fathers have had one of these Classics I thought it would make sense to remind the petrol heads why these Toyota’s aren’t going anywhere. Both Cars features Toyota’s small displacement weapon of mass destruction the 4AGE 1600cc power plant. All Tuning and mapping was done by Seraaj and Paul from MAC, the usual Performance goodies are supplied by Performance Solutions, starting with forged H Beam rods and Arias pistons too handle Hi boost. Then an Excell waste gate, HKS Blow off valve and a Hybrid T3/T4 turbo takes care of induction coupled with a Ram design exhaust manifold on imraan’s Car. Fueling is controlled by a Dictator Management ECU pulsing those 700cc injectors with Fuel Pressure adjustable by Malpassi Regulators On Both cars. The white corolla features a Ignition system finished off with 10mm Yellow Plug leads and two MSD ignitions mounted beneath the dash. A lot of time and patience has been taken taken too give this car one of the cleanest engine bay’s you might ever see. Color coded too perfection this visual would make many a street racer envious and embarrassed too pop there hoods. With Large Power Figures Expected at high boost on both cars the combination of a 21R gearbox and rapid launching LSD was a necessity rather than a luxury. The interior of the white car is fitted with FIA approved Black Bucket seats, race steering and RED 4 point harnesses from OMP, Gear Knob and Alloy pedals From MOMO. The Previous owner was Meticulous in the cars all round Performance. The brakes are of the highest standard and the suspension has all round adjustable coil over’s ensuring drive quality is maintained without sacrificing handling.
